Hey girls!Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Phi Mu. My name is Kristin McDuffie, and I am the president of the Alpha Gamma chapter here at Samford.

Founded in 1852, Phi Mu is a strong organization across the nation and here at Samford.  Phi Mu's open motto, "Love, Honor, Truth," gives you a small glimpse into what we stand for.  But what does that look like at Samford?

Phi Mus are all over campus.  They are Connections Leaders, University Ministries leaders, athletes, Samford cheerleaders, dance team members, Samford Ambassadors, and leaders in all kinds of honor societies and service groups.  Phi Mu can open you up to so many new opportunities and experiences here at Samford, whether it's other organizations like Student Government or campus events like Step Sing and intramurals.  Greek life has so many advantages and makes college all the more memorable and special. 

For me, Phi Mu is a new home, a place where I've found support in my highest and lowest times.  Coming to college was a vulnerable and uncertian time for me.  I was scared I'd fall between the cracks, but Phi Mu brought me more happiness and showed me more love than I could've imagined.  Through Phi Mu, I've gotten to serve others and develop a servant's heart, take leadership positions and see myself grow in unexpected ways, and form some of the most precious memories ever.  I'll never forget the movie nights and pajamas parties at the house, the enchanting formals and semiformals, the exciting date parties, sisterhood retreats, philanthropy car washes, and road trips. 

Here in Phi Mu, we've had a wonderful year so far, full of wonderful and exciting accomplishments.  We're so proud of our sister Anna Laura Bryan, Miss Samford 2008, as well as Emily Gettys, Homecoming Queen 2008.  Other exciting succeses this year include, winning Participants' Choice Choreography for Step Sing 2009, having the highest Greek GPA in Fall 2008, and raising over $40,000 for our philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network.
